Agril Horticultural Grade Perlite (3–6mm) — Zip-lock Pouch
රු999.00 – රු3,999.00Price range: රු999.00 through රු3,999.00
Most plant roots drown long before they dry out. Perlite is the simplest way to add instant drainage and essential air pockets to heavy potting soils, keeping your tropicals and succulents breathing comfortably.
These lightweight volcanic glass pearls prevent soil compaction while holding onto nutrients for slow release. It sits at a neutral pH, making it completely safe for sensitive roots. Just remember to dampen it before mixing—dry perlite dust isn’t something you want to breathe in.

Why your soil needs PerliteStandard potting mix straight from the bag is often too dense for indoor plants. Over time, it compacts, trapping water and suffocating roots. Perlite acts like thousands of tiny, rigid sponges—propping the soil open so excess water drains out fast and oxygen can flow in.
What makes this grade different?
We source a specific 3–6mm horticultural grade. It’s large enough to create meaningful air pockets in your mix, but small enough to distribute evenly without floating to the top immediately. It also gives your soil that classic, clean “salt and pepper” look.
- Extremely porous: Holds and slowly releases nutrients back to the roots.
- Low water retention: Prevents the soggy conditions that lead to root rot.
- pH Neutral (7.0–7.5): Won’t alter the chemistry of your carefully balanced substrates.
- Sterile and inorganic: Won’t break down, rot, or attract fungus gnats.
Quick Specs
| Volume | 0.5/1/2.5 Liters (Resealable Pouch) |
| Particle Size | 3–6mm (Horticultural Grade) |
| Material | Expanded volcanic glass |
Perlite is expanded volcanic glass, and the dry dust can irritate your airways. Always wear a mask (N95 or similar) when opening the bag. Spray the perlite with a little water to dampen it before pouring or mixing to completely eliminate dust.
Mixing Guide
Perlite is incredibly versatile. We recommend blending it with our Premium Coco Peat Mix or Sphagnum Moss to dial in the perfect drainage for your specific plant.
- General Houseplants: Mix 10–20% perlite by volume into your standard potting soil.
- Aroids & Tropicals: Mix 20–30% perlite to create a chunky, breathable substrate that Monsteras and Philodendrons love.
- Succulents & Cacti: Mix 30–50% perlite. These plants demand rapid drainage, and a high perlite ratio ensures their roots never sit in standing water.
- Semi-Hydroponics: Wash thoroughly to remove fine dust, then use as a standalone rooting or growing medium in a reservoir setup.
Why does my perlite eventually float to the top of the pot?
Perlite is incredibly lightweight. Over time, as you water from the top, the heavier soil particles settle and the lighter perlite naturally works its way up. To minimise this, water your plants slowly, or switch to bottom-watering.
Is perlite the same as pumice?
They are similar, but not identical. Both are volcanic and improve drainage. However, perlite is much lighter and holds less water than pumice. If you have a heavy pot that you need to keep light (like a hanging basket), perlite is the better choice.
Does this expire or break down over time?
No. Because it is expanded glass, perlite is completely inorganic. It will not break down, decompose, or expire in your soil. It provides permanent aeration until you decide to repot.
Can I use this for propagating cuttings?
Absolutely. A 50/50 mix of damp perlite and sphagnum moss, or even 100% damp perlite in a clear cup, is an excellent, highly oxygenated environment for rooting stubborn cuttings.

Agril BioBoost Coco Chips — Trichoderma-Enriched 10–20mm Coconut Husk for Orchids and Aroids
BioBoost Coco Chips combine the macroporous drainage structure of 10–20mm coconut husk chunks with supplier-blended enrichments: a Trichoderma-based biological fungicide, plant-derived rooting hormone, and a balanced starter fertiliser — giving roots both the physical space to expand and the biological environment to establish faster.
Chip size 10–20mm. pH 5.5–6.8. Low EC. Sterile base. No additional fungicide treatment required for the first 6–8 weeks. Purpose-built for orchids, aroids, and epiphyte mixes where establishment speed and root health matter.
Agril BioBoost Coco Peat — Trichoderma-Enriched, Rooting Hormone & Starter Fertiliser Blended Growing Medium
BioBoost Coco Peat is premium pH-buffered coco peat pre-enriched with a Trichoderma-based biological fungicide, plant-derived rooting hormone, and a balanced starter fertiliser — delivering a substrate that actively supports root development, suppresses soil-borne pathogens, and provides early nutrition from day one. It is the ready-to-use choice for propagation, repotting aroids, and establishing newly potted tropicals.
pH buffered to 5.8–6.5. EC flushed to below 1.0 mS/cm prior to enrichment. Sterile base medium. No additional fungicide treatment required for the first 6–8 weeks of use.
Burned Rice Husk — Carbonised Rice Hull Biochar, Permanent Drainage Amendment, Sterile
Burned rice husk is fully carbonised rice hull — a black, lightweight biochar material produced by controlled high-temperature combustion of paddy husks. Its porous carbon matrix improves drainage, increases aeration, and provides long-lasting physical structure in any substrate blend. Unlike organic amendments, carbonised rice hull does not decompose and contributes stable, permanent porosity to the mix.
pH approximately 7.0–8.5 (slightly alkaline). Sterile. Weed-free. Long-lasting structural amendment. Use at 10–20% by volume in mixed substrates. Pair with worm castings or fertiliser for nutrition — carbonised husk is not a nutrient source.
Worm Castings — Pure Vermicompost, Slow-Release Organic Nutrition, Odour-Neutral
Worm castings are the finished vermicompost output of earthworms processing organic matter — a dense, nutrient-rich amendment that feeds soil biology, improves structure, and provides gentle slow-release nutrition without burn risk at recommended ratios. Unlike synthetic fertilisers, castings simultaneously improve microbial activity, water retention, and nutrient availability.
NPK approximately 1–0.7–1.1 with a rich micronutrient and humic acid profile. Odour-neutral. Safe for all plants including seedlings. Use at 10–20% by volume in any substrate blend or as a top-dress amendment.
Indoor Plant Repotting Mat | Waterproof & Foldable
Keep your floors and tables clean with this waterproof indoor plant repotting mat. Unfold it, snap the corners together, and create an instant, mess-free workspace for repotting, pruning, or mixing soil. Measuring 50cm × 50cm, it is perfectly sized for apartment dwellers and kitchen counters.
Made from flexible, water-resistant PE material, it reliably catches stray dirt and water spills. When you are done, simply unclip one corner to funnel excess soil back into your bag, wipe it down, and fold it away for easy storage.

Sphagnum Moss — Long-Fibre Horticultural Grade, Air-Dried, High Water Retention
Sphagnum moss is a long-fibre, naturally acidic growing medium harvested and air-dried for horticultural use. Its hollow capillary fibre structure holds water at up to 20× its dry weight while maintaining sufficient airflow around roots — a balance very few substrates achieve. Slightly acidic pH (4.0–5.0) makes it well-suited for moisture-loving, acid-preferring plants.
Long-fibre horticultural grade. pH 4.0–5.0. Air-dried. Ideal for Monsteras, Anthuriums, Hoyas, terrariums, moss poles, and orchid mounting. Soak for 5–10 minutes before use.
Horticultural Charcoal — Sustainably Sourced Selected Hardwood, Toxin Adsorption, Terrarium Grade
Agril Horticultural Charcoal is produced by slow-burning selected hardwoods chosen specifically for their low resin content and clean burn profile — resulting in a pure, mineral-rich carbon amendment free from resinous contaminants. The porous carbon structure adsorbs excess salts, organic waste compounds, and volatile impurities that accumulate in closed or low-drainage container environments, helping maintain substrate freshness over time.
pH approximately 7.0–8.5. Sustainably sourced hardwood. Use at 5–10% in terrariums, closed systems, and any substrate where long-term hygiene and toxin control are priorities. Not a substitute for activated carbon in aquatic systems.
Clay Pellets (LECA) — Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, Reusable, pH Neutral
Clay pellets — also known as LECA (Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate) — are kiln-fired clay spheres with a porous internal structure and a hard, stable outer shell. pH neutral, chemically inert, and reusable indefinitely with proper cleaning, they create excellent drainage channels, prevent substrate compaction, and work as a standalone semi-hydroponic medium or a structural drainage layer beneath finer media.
Particle size 8–16mm. pH neutral. Sterile. Suitable for semi-hydroponic growing, passive hydroponics, drainage layers, and open-structure aroid substrate blends.
