360° Breathable Series — Clear Orchid & Aroid Pots

Roots that can’t breathe eventually rot. Most clear pots on the market are just transparent versions of standard nursery liners, but our 360° Breathable Series is engineered specifically for the collectors who care about root health. Designed for orchids, aroids, and epiphytes, these pots feature vertical air slits and a raised internal ventilation cone to eliminate the “soggy core” that kills expensive plants.
Made from hardened, UV-resistant PP plastic, these pots are significantly more rigid than standard nursery liners while remaining flexible enough to resist cracking. Whether you’re using them as standalone pots or breathable inner liners for decorative cache pots, they provide the visibility you need to monitor moisture and the airflow your roots crave.

Maximum airflow for high-value roots
In a typical plastic pot, air only enters from the top. For plants like Orchids, Monsteras, and Anthuriums, this creates a “dead zone” in the center of the root ball where moisture lingers too long, leading to anaerobic bacteria and rot. Our 360° Breathable Series changes the physics of your pot.
By using 360-degree vertical slits and a unique Internal Ventilation Cone, air is pulled through the sides and up into the center of the root system. This ensures that your potting mix dries evenly from the outside in and the inside out.
360° Slits
Vertical vents allow oxygen to reach the roots directly, preventing the “wet feet” syndrome common in standard pots.
Internal Cone
The raised base forces air into the heart of the root ball, eliminating the damp core that causes center-rot.
UV Resistant PP
High-quality polypropylene that won’t turn yellow or brittle in bright windows. Rigid yet resilient.
What’s included
- Single Pot, Pack of 3 (same size), or Growth Set (1 of each size)
- Hardened UV-Resistant PP construction
- Integrated internal ventilation cone
- Reinforced rim for easy handling
Why do epiphyte roots need air?
Most orchids and many popular aroids (like Monstera and Philodendron) are epiphytes—in the wild, they grow on trees with their roots exposed to the air. Their roots are covered in velamen, a spongy layer designed to soak up water quickly and then dry out fast. When we put these plants in standard "closed" plastic pots, we trap them in a low-oxygen environment they aren't evolved for.
The 360° Breathable Series replicates this natural airflow while still providing the convenience of a pot. This leads to several measurable benefits:
- Air Pruning: When root tips reach the air slits, they stop growing outward and begin branching internally, creating a more robust, fibrous root system instead of "circling" the pot.
- Gas Exchange: Roots "breathe" just like leaves. These pots allow CO2 to exit and Oxygen to enter the substrate efficiently.
- Visual Monitoring: Stop guessing. The high-clarity plastic lets you see root colour (silver/grey orchids need water; green orchids are hydrated) and check for pests without disturbing the plant.
Finding the right fit
Choosing the right size is critical. Epiphytes generally prefer to be "snug" in their pots. If the pot is too large, the excess substrate stays wet for too long, even with great ventilation.
| Size | Top Diameter | Height | Base Diameter |
| Small | 10 cm | 12 cm | 7 cm |
| Medium | 12 cm | 14.3 cm | 9 cm |
| Large | 14 cm | 16.5 cm | 10 cm |
Includes one of each size (10cm, 12cm, 14cm). Perfect for a growing orchid collection or for stepping up a plant as it matures over several seasons.
Available in all sizes. Ideal if you are repotting several similar-sized plants or starting a propagation project.
Will the soil fall out of the side slits?
If you use standard fine potting soil, some may leak out during the first few waterings. However, these pots are designed for "chunky" mixes—bark, coarse perlite, leca, or sphagnum moss. These larger-grade materials stay perfectly contained within the slits.
Do these pots cause the plant to dry out too fast?
They will dry out faster than a sealed plastic pot, which is actually the goal for most orchids and aroids. You may find you need to water slightly more frequently (e.g., every 5 days instead of every 7), but the risk of root rot drops significantly.
Can I use these for Semi-Hydroponics or LECA?
No—these are not suitable for a standing water reservoir because of the side slits. If you want to use LECA, you would need to use these as an inner pot inside a sealed outer container, but keep in mind the water will leak out of the sides into the reservoir.
Are these pots breakable if I drop them?
The PP (Polypropylene) material is a "hardened" plastic, meaning it holds its shape much better than a standard flimsy nursery pot. While it isn't indestructible, it is resilient and designed to bounce rather than shatter under normal household use.
Will algae grow inside the pot because it's clear?
If the pot is exposed to direct sunlight and kept very wet, some green algae may appear. This is purely cosmetic and does not harm the plant. In fact, many orchid roots are photosynthetic and actually benefit from the light exposure.
